A Perth School Has Banned Mullets And We Don't Know How to Feel

*Frantically books haircut*
Buckle up for a wild ride because devastating news has rocked the Australian community as an all-boys school in Perth has banned students from having the infamous mullet haircut.

The ban was outlined by Trinity College in its most recent newsletter.
“The current trend of growing the hair at the back of the head and/or closely cropping the sides of the head to accentuate the “mullet” style are untidy, non-conventional and not acceptable at Trinity College,” the newsletter states.
“Hairstyles should be of a conservative nature. Students are not permitted to have mullets, rat tails, top knots, mohawks, extra-long fringes, or any other non-conventional style cuts.”
Big oof.
According to the school, any student who fails to comply with the strict hairstyle requirements will be picked up by their parents and ordered to get a haircut immediately.
Zero chill.
A mullet ban is not unusual for a private school in Australia. In February this year, Waverley College in Sydney slapped a ban on the mudflap, also deeming the haircut as inappropriate for students.

This devastating blow to the mullet community comes on the back of a recent resurgence of the retro haircut, with the ‘business at the front, party in the back’ breaking back into pop culture lately.
To illustrate just how much momentum the mullet has gained, over the last 12 months celebrities like Miley Cyrus, Troye Sivan, Rihanna and Zac Efron have all revealed they gave the mullet a crack.
Surprisingly, Premier of Western Australia Mark McGowan has had his say in the mullet debate, confirming he is very much a supporter of the neck warmer.
“I’m very pro mullet, it’s a unique Australian invention—one which we’ve been selling to the world, but I’ll let the school make their own decisions,” he told reporters on Tuesday.
Onya Premier, you continue to etch your name into West Aussie folklore when you comment on such important matters as a school’s mullet ban.
Despite McGowan's glowing endorsement, we reckon the mullet ban won't be lifted anytime soon. For those of you who don't go to a private school: free the mullet!
