How You Can Get Early Access to “Back 4 Blood”

Beta access is available in Australia from Thursday.

Left 4 Dead 2 fans have a lot to be happy about this week as the highly anticipated sequel Back 4 Blood is being made available to play early.

We should make it clear that it’s not the full game that you’ll be able to play, but the beta version (basically a testing version). Regardless, it should satisfy your undying love for gore-infested zombie violence.

Here’s how you can get early access.

How do I get early access to Back 4 Blood beta?

For Australians, there are three different ways you can get beta access to Back 4 Blood. The first is by preordering the game with EB Games. Anyone who does this will receive a code to play the Back 4 Blood beta.

The second option is to register online at the Back 4 Blood website for a chance to win early access to the game.

Finally, if you’re a Twitch user, you can score an early access code by watching a Twitch streamer playing Back 4 Blood content with Twitch Drops enabled. You’ll need to be watching for at least 60 minutes to earn a code though. You can find more details on that one here.

When can I play Back 4 Blood beta?

Gaming companies love to do these things in waves and the Back 4 Blood beta will be no different.

The early access beta wave begins 5am AEST Friday 6 August and finishes at 5am AEST on Monday 9 August.

The open access beta wave begins 5am AEST Friday 13 August and runs through to 5am AEST on Tuesday 17 August.

What is included in Back 4 Blood beta?

What’s exciting is there is a load of zombie-smashing content to play in the beta version.

There will be two maps to play for the Swarm Player vs. Player mode, two co-op maps to freely fight off hordes to your heart's content, a heap of different characters to choose from and six different zombie types to face in Swarm.

For people (like me) who’ve been waiting over 10 years for a successor to Left 4 Dead 2, getting on the early access is a must.

If you’re lazy though (also me) then you won’t have to wait too long for the full release. Back 4 Blood drops 12 October for PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S.
