Aussie Users Might Soon Be Paying More for Netflix

Streaming overlord Netflix has quietly been mulling over a monthly price increase for Australian users.
The Australian is reporting that they are considering raising all subscription prices by a few dollars, which might not be much to some people, but can make a major difference for others (i.e. low income earners, students, et cetera).
BRB, just basking in misery.

It is alleged that the basic one-screen fee may rise from $8.99 to $9.99 while the two-screen plan may increase to $13.99 (from $11.99) and the 4k service could go up three dollars to $17.99.
Reports from The Australian explain that this could be in reaction to the new tax that's being placed on overseas companies. Netflix, however, has said that they may not increase the fees to everyone, stating that this was a trial directed at certain users.
"We continuously test new things at Netflix and these tests typically vary in length of time. In this case, we are testing slightly different price points to better understand how consumers value Netflix. Not everyone will see this test and we may not ever offer it generally," a spokesperson for Netflix said to news.com.au.
I guess all we can do now is hope for the best.
