"Arrow" Is Ending With Season 8

Take a bow, Oliver. (No, not that kind of bow, the other kind of bow.)

After eight seasons, Arrow will come to an end, star Stephen Amell has announced on Twitter.

"Playing Oliver Queen has been the greatest professional experience of my life... but you can’t be a vigilante forever," he said.

Amell then confirmed Arrow’s upcoming eighth season will be the show’s last. And, unlike previous seasons (which ran for 22 – 23 eps each), this last sprint will only comprise of ten episodes.

Its sister shows on American broadcaster the CW are still continuing (for now). They include The Flash, Supergirl, Legends of Tomorrow and the upcoming Batwoman, starring Ruby Rose.

This year will also see another “Arrowverse” crossover, titled Crisis on Infinite Earths. The question now on everyone’s lips is, will Oliver Queen make it out of that massive event series alive?

Considering today’s announcement, and the fact CW president Mark Pedowitz told press it’s "highly likely" Crisis on Infinite Earths will include the death of a major character, Arrow’s fate appears to be sealed.

Start preparing yourself emotionally now. (Or, just remember that time Amell disrespected Beyoncé, and maybe you won’t feel so bad.)

Arrow’s eighth season will air in Australia on Foxtel’s Fox8 channel later this year.
