ANZAC Special: The Top Five Moments of AFL Round Six

Charlie Cameron, you star.

The annual ANZAC Day round always brings some special moments in the AFL, and 2023 was no slouch.

From match-winners to goalkicking marvels, there’s plenty on the docket for the top five moments of round six.

5. Jai Culley’s big day.

Before Saturday’s clash against Port Adelaide, West Coast’s Jai Culley had just one goal to his name.

He left Adelaide Oval on Saturday afternoon with four more.

It was a big loss for the Eagles, but in a hard-fought game, this youngster didn’t give up.

4. Commemorating ANZAC Day.

The ANZAC Round is always a special one, and it all comes down to the traditional Collingwood-Essendon Clash on ANZAC Day itself.

95,000 fans showed up in force at the MCG on Tuesday, and showed why this day and this game is so important to Australians everywhere.

Top it off with an absolute cracker of a game, and it’s a resounding success.

3. A match-winner from Darcy Fogarty.

Games in Tasmania are always hard to predict, and Sunday’s Hawthorn v Adelaide clash was no exception.

Adelaide were the favourites and led for most of the match, but in their home-away-from-home, Hawthorn clawed back in the final term to lead by 14 points.

But, it was a quick snap goal from Izak Rankine that set up Darcy Fogarty for the match-winning goal.

And oof, Fogarty delivered.

2. Kyle Langford’s perfect moment.

Tensions always fly at the Collingwood v Essendon ANZAC Day Clash.

With a tight game in the balance, Essendon’s Kyle Langford had a chance for a goal from the boundary.

The ball had fallen into crowd hands, and when it appeared a Collingwood fan was gonna hand the ball back to him, he dropped it just as Langford went for the ball.

Undeterred, Langford picked it up, slotted the goal, and let the fan know.

1. Charlie Cameron’s magic boots.

With seven goals, Charlie Cameron had plenty of reasons to celebrate on Saturday.

But his second of the day was the cream of the crop.

A loose ball in front of goals, all Charlie needed to do was glance it off his boot and guide it directly into goals.

And it’s incredible to watch.
