Amber Heard Summoned To Queensland Court For Dog Smuggling

The seemingly endless saga of Johnny Depp and Amber Heard’s smuggled dogs stretches ever onward. This is our lives now: writing about dogs named Pistol and Boo, for eternity.

According to Yahoo, Depp’s wife Heard has been issued with a Commonwealth summons to appear in Southport local court in Queensland on September 7.

She will have to answer to the allegations that Pistol and Boo were illegally imported into the country, while Depp filmed Pirates of the Caribbean 5: The Only Thing That’s Lasting Longer Than This Whole Dog Mess Is This Franchise.

The Department of Agriculture confirmed that the summons was issued on July 14.

"All animals entering Australia must have an import permit, and have undergone relevant testing and health checks signed off by a government veterinarian from the exporting country to ensure pests and diseases from overseas are not brought here," they argued.

Heard and Depp could be fined up to three hundred thousand dollars for the offence, though, in fairness, that’s not as bad as Agriculture minister Barnaby Joyce’s original threat: to execute to the dogs like they were nothing to him.

Anyway, we hope you have provisions, because at this rate, the trial of Pistol and Boo will probably stretch into 2016. There’ll probably be another two or three Pirates movies before it even gets resolved.

Heard was last seen opposite Channing Tatum in Magic Mike XXL, which was probably much more fun to film than sitting in a court being quizzed about dog smuggling will be.
