Johnny Depp To Flee Australia With His Dogs, Fearing Their Execution

It's been a dog of a day for Depp.

Johnny Depp is set to escape Australia this evening with his controversial pet dogs, after Agriculture Minister Barnaby Joyce pledged to have them euthanised if they weren’t immediately removed.

It is the biggest vendetta a human has held against a dog since 101 Dalmatians.

According to the Sydney Morning Herald, Depp and his wife Amber Heard will transport the Yorkshire terriers in question, Boo and Pistol, back to the United States, after failing to declare them to customs officers upon arrival in Queensland.

The furor began when Gold Coast dog groomer Liane Kent posted a picture of the pups on Facebook, claiming she had the permission of Depp’s minders to do so.

Depp has been in the country shooting a fifth Pirates of the Caribbean film.

However, Minister Joyce has warned that if the dogs were indeed smuggled into Australia via Depp’s private jet, they may not be allowed back onto U.S. soil, and could still face the dreaded dog death penalty.

A nervous nation will watch on this weekend, frantically signing this Change.org petition to “save Johnny Depp’s dogs” in case that latter scenario plays out.

Meanwhile, MP Clive Palmer has taken to Twitter to voice his disapproval of Barnaby Joyce’s actions, saying it will endanger the already-shaky production of Pirates 5.

“If Johnny Depp does return to the U.S. with #PistolandBoo @Barnaby_Joyce will cost Australia a thousand jobs and millions $$ in exports,” he Tweeted.

Anyway, it’s a weird day for Australian politics.
