Amanda Seyfried Wants More "Mamma Mia!" Films and I Do, I Do, I Do Too

Gimme, gimme, gimme another movie pls.

It has been almost three long years since musical fans were blessed with a Mamma Mia! flick.

With Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again landing in cinemas in July 2018, we had enough ABBA covers, cheesy dance numbers, and '70s retro vibes to keep us content for a while.

In fact, a number of TikTok users even managed to keep themselves entertained during COVID lockdowns by recreating scenes from the movie.

Of course, what fans are really yearning for is another movie, and now the possibility has been teased by Amanda Seyfried.

Could the cast be returning to the Greek islands to belt out some more ABBA songs at the top of their lungs? Are there even any tracks left for them to cover?

Well, during an interview on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, Seyfried—who played Sophie in both films—said she'd rather do another Mamma Mia! movie than have a third child.

"Definitely third Mamma Mia!, definitely no third child," the actress told the host.

"If it was up to me, yes, of course, there would be eight Mamma Mia!'s. Do you know much fun that is?"

Seyfried also added that she'd love The Greatest Showman actor Hugh Jackman to join the cast if they made another movie. (As long as he can bring the same amount of energy as Colin Firth, we're okay with it.)

Back in June 2020, Mamma Mia! co-creator Judy Craymer revealed that she was going to start working on a third film before the coronavirus pandemic totally ruined her plans.

"I was meant to have been getting on with that, in my head, during these months. But then I got hit with COVID fog," she told the Daily Mail.

"I think one day there will be another film, because there's meant to be a trilogy, you see."

What would the third movie be about? It's hard to say. Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again ended with Sophie (Seyfried) giving birth to a baby boy, named Donny. At the christening, Donna's spirit—portrayed by Meryl Streep—made everyone cry by reappearing to watch over her daughter and grandson.

Honestly, who cares what the storyline is. Just give the people what they want, okay?
