A New "Percy Jackson" Series Is in Development at Disney+

Stans want Logan Lerman involved.

Fans of the Percy Jackson books have been passionately campaigning for another screen adaptation of the series for a very long time.

Well, try to contain your excitement because a brand new live-action Percy Jackson television series is coming to Disney+.

Earlier today, author Rick Riordan announced the news on Twitter, alongside his wife Becky.

"We can't say much at this stage but we are very excited about the idea of a live-action series of the highest quality, following the storyline of the original Percy Jackson five-book series, starting with The Lightning Thief in season one," Riordan wrote.

While The Lightning Thief and Sea of Monsters were both adapted into feature films back in 2010 and 2013, they received mixed reviews from critics and stans simply weren't satisfied.

However, people will be happy to know that, this time around, Riordan and Becky will be involved in all aspects of the show. It's probably a good decision, considering the author has openly admitted his hatred for the movies.

For those who haven't watched the films or read the books, Percy Jackson follows the titular character as he discovers that he is a demigod, and the son of a human mother and the Greek god Poseidon.

Other books in the series include The Titan's Curse, The Battle of the Labyrinth and The Last Olympian.

While the internet is undoubtedly thrilled about the announcement, people appear to have one specific request: Logan Lerman must star as Poseidon.

After playing Percy in the films, fans believe he would be the perfect actor to portray the Greek god.
