A Facebook User Has Just Been Fined for Liking a Salty Post

You might want to triple-check what you 'like' next time on Facebook because you could end up in hot water with the law.
Most people will like a post that piques their interest without a second thought, but for one guy in Switzerland, it turned into a whole deal.
The 45-year-old Zurich user 'liked' a few posts that called animal rights activist Erwin Kessler a "fascist", "anti-Semitic" and a "racist".
Although it seemed like a small gesture of support, it was enough for Judge Catherine Gerwig to hand down a suspended fine to the user, citing that the 'like' was "spreading a value judgement."
Think back to all those salty posts you have heart-reacted to.

Media lawyer Martin Steiger told German newspaper Tages Anzeiger, that "a 'like' doesn't always mean that someone likes the content of a post. If, for instance, there's an accident, then it also means expressing sympathy."
I guess that's some consolation for some of us fretting the worst right now.
