Yikes! Some PS4 Games Might Exhibit 'Errors' If You Try to Play Them on PS5

*Angry react*
Like a miracle, Sony finally provided us with some information on the PlayStation 5 last week. While we still don’t know when we’ll be getting it (given the whole pre-order shemozzle), Sony did reveal that the overwhelming majority of their PS4 games will be backwards compatible with the new console (yay!).
In an article posted on their support site, they revealed that more than 4,000 PS4 games will be playable on the PS5 with just a small list that are excluded.
While this is mostly good news, they also mentioned that while those backwards compatible games will play, some may "exhibit errors or unexpected behaviour when played on PS5 consoles."

I’m sorry, what?
In classic Sony fashion, that’s all the info we’re gonna get. No details on what these errors might look like, or what games will be affected, just that it’s a thing. Fantastic.
They also stated that some of the functions that were available on the PS4 console might not be available on the PS5. For example, the share menu cannot be displayed within PS4 games that are being played on the PS5.
Lol, so much for "play has no limits."
While they won’t tell us which games are going to be a bit munted they have listed which games wont even get their chance with the PS5. These include:
- DWVR
- Afro Samurai 2 Revenge of Kuma Volume One
- TT Isle of Man - Ride on the Edge 2
- Just Deal With It!
- Shadow Complex Remastered
- Robinson: The Journey
- We Sing
- Hitman Go: Definitive Edition
- Shadwen
- Joe’s Diner
While they’ve provided this list for now, they have stated that in is subject to change and does include demos, non-game applications and media.
If you’re worried about all this, you may be able to upgrade the PS4 version of your game to the PS5 version. You can get all the info on upgrading here.
They never say specific features, they say some functionalities which is very vague. If “functionalities” don’t work, the game is broken lmao.
