Yes, "Game Of Thrones'" Biggest Ever Battle Was Very Difficult To Shoot

The Battle of Bastards finally went down on Game of Thrones last night (spoilers ahoy), and if you thought it looked like a slog for the soldiers, spare a thought for its “horse mistress”.

That’s the title given to ‘behind the scenes’ legend Camilla Naprous, the woman who corralled the actual 40 horses that descended on Kit Harington’s Jon Snow at the top of the skirmish.

(BTW, “Horse Mistress” is a way better title than the Lord of Winterfell. Kind of makes you wonder why Ramsay Bolton was so desperate to hold onto it when “Horse Mistress” might have been up for grabs.)

“We’re a bit annoyed, because I think everyone’s gonna think it’s CGI, and it wasn’t,” Harington complained, true to Jon Snow’s sook nature. (JK; that would have been terrifying to film.)

Watch the unreal making-of footage below, which includes the creation of the “body pile”. (Obviously, this footage is a tad violent, so parental discretion is hugely advised for viewers under the age of 15.)
