Xbox Has a Giveaway Where You Can Win An Ugly Xbox Themed Fridge

I guess gamers have to store their RedBull somewhere.

So, it seems like Xbox have heard the news that their new console, the Xbox Series X, is kinda ugly. With it’s very basic, straight edge, slab-like design the console isn’t exactly curvy like its nemesis the PS5.

More than just a few people must have pointed this out 'cos instead of Xbox ignoring the haters they have instead leaned right into the joke of it looking like a damn fridge.

They haven’t just run with the joke though: they’ve driven it all the way out of town because they’re now running an actual competition for an Xbox Series X fridge.

“Utilising the latest in cooling technology” they reckon this will “power your dreams” (lol wut?)

In their extremely dramatic promo video, the fridge is shown to feature the classic green Xbox light on the inside, which is very unfortunate. That food inside looks nasty.

I’d also just like to point out that everything in that fridge is very random and is completely uncovered. Xbox, pls stop this madness.

This is one of the weirdest things I’ve seen in terms of console competition but if we’re being honest, both Microsoft and Sony have been pulling out all the stops this year.

While this is mostly about marketing and memes it seems like the competition is legit, you can read the rules here. Essentially all you have to do is follow @xbox on Twitter, re-tweet the promo post and include the hashtag #XSXFridgeSweeps.

Okay, I’ve got to give it to Xbox, this gag is kind of funny and it’s sure to grab the attention of a lot of other fans still tossing up there console choice. However, I can’t help but feel like this is a little reminiscent of the Gabbie Hanna monster meme. Have they gone too far?

girl you’ve made it not funny anymore. pls stop

If this fridge is something you didn’t know you needed until you saw it, you better get in quick ‘cos the competition ends on 4 November.
