PlayStation Better Watch Out ‘Cos Apple TV Is Also Coming to Xbox This November

Oh snap!
Last month, Sony threw us another curveball in an effort to win over customers against the Xbox Series X.
Sony announced that not only will customers be able to play games on their PlayStations, but they’ll also be able to stream 24/7 because they’re adding Apple TV to the PS5 on 12 November.
While this could’ve been a gamechanger for many gamers who are still tossing up which console to buy, Xbox decided to rock the boat even more and surprise us with their own Apple TV partnership.

That’s right: As of 10 November, players can download the Apple TV app on both Xbox One and their next-gen consoles, the Xbox Series X and S.
We’re about a week out from both consoles' official launch dates, so the news of this addition is likely going to heighten the excitement.
Microsoft has also confirmed that their next-gen consoles Apple TV will support Dolby Vision as well as Dolby Atmos and feature Netflix, Disney Plus, HBO Max, Spotify, YouTube, YouTube TV, Amazon Prime Video, Hulu, NBC Peacock, Vudu, FandangoNow, Twitch, Sky Go, NOW TV, Sky Ticket and more. Obviously, each app is also subject to its availability in your country.

Not only will the addition of Apple TV give gamers the classic entertainment apps they’re already used to, but they will also get to enjoy Apple TV+ and Apple TV channels as well as Apple Originals and popular movies.
The PS5 will feature Apple TV+, Amazon Prime Video, Disney Plus, Hulu, Netflix, Peacock, Spotify, Twitch, YouTube and it comes with a specially designed remote with designated buttons for Disney Plus, Netflix, YouTube and Spotify.

This is great news for gamers and TV bingers alike, however, I’m left wondering why it took Microsoft and Sony so long to add Apple TV to their consoles. Sure, they might already have some streaming services but it seems like most smart TVs now have Apple TV or Chromecast already built-in. Plus, with their growing popularity, many customers may already have one at home.
Either way, it’s a win for customers without a streaming set up and a tough call to make for those who still aren’t sure which console to buy (good luck).
