Wondering Where the “Did It Work” Thigh-High Boots Meme Came From? Thank Lalisa

It’s gone viral on Twitter.

We've been looking for any way to keep ourselves entertained during the coronavirus pandemic, so it's only natural that we've witnessed the emergence of many inexplicable new memes on social media. 

Earlier this month, we welcomed the Gossip Girl meme, which is possibly still the stupidest meme of 2020 so far. But considering how unpredictable life is at the moment, we'll take all the dumb humour we can get.

Now, another meme has taken over Twitter, and people are definitely using it to exercising their creative brains. 

The cheeky new meme features a pair of lady legs wearing some shiny black thigh-high boots. Users are taking advantage of the way Twitter displays uploaded images to combine the legs with random figures. Then, they ask "Did it work?" in the caption.  

It sounds confusing, so it's probably best to show you a bunch of glorious examples.

First, we have the legs combined with an image of Shrek. 

Except, that is nothing compared to this seamless amalgamation of Robert Pattinson and the legs.

But here's the real question: Where did the meme come from? 

Well, the legs belong to Lalisa Manoban (better known as Lisa) from the popular K-pop group Blackpink. She wore the sleek thigh-high boots for a performance to QUIN and 6LACK's track "Mushroom Chocolate". 

The video premiered on 20 April and has amassed over 15 million views.
