With New Song "SoulMate", Justin Timberlake Basically Admits "Man of the Woods" Sucked

Summer starts now? Not Down Under, it doesn’t.

More than halfway through the year, Justin Timberlake’s musical reinvention Man of the Woods still stands tall as 2018’s worst album.

And it seems JT agrees, because his new single isn’t from the album at all. Bless you, Justin!

Yesterday he dropped "SoulMate", which he no doubt intends to be the song of the (American) summer, despite the fact Cardi B’s "I Like It" is positioned to take the crown.

Still, Timbo must be craving that same burst of success he saw with 2016’s "Can’t Stop This Feeling", and instead of forcing another dour Man of the Woods clanger out into the world, he’s developed a tropical beach anthem with Drake’s occasional producer-songwriters, Nineteen85 and James Fauntleroy.

Anyway, it’s not "Say Something" and for that we should all be grateful.
