Will There Be a Season 3 of "Killing Eve"? How?!

Season 2 of Killing Eve wrapped up with a wild and violent cliffhanger. Spoilers ahoy.
If you haven’t been watching Killing Eve on ABC iView, we have only one question: How dare you? Yes, life is busy. But is life too busy for Killing Eve? Incorrect.
Nonetheless, if you’re behind on this acclaimed series, and planning to play catch-up in the near future, you may want to exit this article swiftly, because we’re about to drop more spoilers than there are ingredients in Niko’s shepherd’s pie. (And if you don’t get the reference, that simply proves you are not up to date with the show, and you should therefore scram ASAP.)
In the just-aired finale for the lusty, off-kilter serial killer dramedy’s second season, M16 detective Eve Polastri (Sandra Oh) was finally tricked into committing murder by her sociopathic frenemy Villanelle (Jodie Comer). Having finally tasted blood, Eve was willing to go on the run with Villanelle in Rome, allowing them to consummate their lingering relationship and presumably go on a romantic killing spree. It promised to make for a pretty weird third season.

However, Eve was eventually shaken from her stupor after realising that Villanelle only loves her when she’s broken, and declines to engage in an (understatement alert) emotionally unhealthy liaison.
So, Villanelle shoots her and leaves her for dead, in a mirror of the Season 1 finale, where Eve stabbed Villanelle while sharing a bed.
The difference, however, is that S1 wrapped up with Villanelle making her escape, indicating she had survived, and would be plotting revenge. This time, S2’s finale, "You’re Mine", closed on Eve’s lifeless body bleeding in the Roman ruins. Cut to credits. Did Killing Eve just… kill Eve?
Well, the first thing you should know is, we don’t know. What we do know is that Killing Eve has indeed been renewed for a third season, set to debut in 2020. And just as original showrunner Phoebe Waller-Bridge (AKA Fleabag) stepped aside for S2, this season’s showrunner Emerald Fennell—moving on to play Camilla in The Crown—will be replaced by Suzanne Heathcote for S3.

Still, will Sandra Oh return? None of the show’s creators are confirming or denying anything, but given the show’s popularity, the celebration of its core double act and particularly the awards acclaim garnered by Oh, we’re gonna go out on the world’s smallest limb and say, 'Yes, probably.'
Executive producer Sally Woodward Gentle told The Hollywood Reporter, however, that you shouldn’t be surprised if some key characters do end up karking it in Season 3.
"The fact that you can kill so many people means there's always space to bring in brilliant new people, so you should constantly be surprised by who might end up dead," she said.
You can catch up with both seasons of Killing Eve on ABC iView. You can also read Luke Jennings’ source novels, Codename: Villanelle, but be warned: the show has diverged largely from the books.
