When Will Spotify Wrapped 2021 Be Announced?

Get ready to be embarrassed by your listening history.

It’s that time of year again: Spotify has officially stopped collecting data on your music and podcast listening habits and they’re getting ready to spill the beans with their 2021 Wrapped.

Like most people, we’re nervous (and excited) as heck to find out what artists we streamed too much and who we wish we streamed more of, so we’re anxiously awaiting this years’ Wrapped release date.

Since the start of November, Spotify has been teasing this years’ breakdown but haven’t spilled the beans on the actual date just yet.

So, to help you sleep a bit better, and help you find it when it finally releases, here’s what we know so far.

When did Spotify stop collecting your music data?

Bad luck to everyone who was having an extended moment all throughout 2021, Spotify officially stopped collecting data for this years’ Wrapped at the end of October.

So, all the Taylor Swift, Lorde, K-pop and Harry Styles you’ve been scream-singing to in your bedroom for the last eight months have defs made their imprint on your Wrapped this year.

Fortunately for all of us Christmas lovers though, this means you can officially bop to Mariah, Bublé and Wham at full volume to get into the holiday spirit without it impacting your results. (Phew).

When will my Wrapped be announced?

So far, Spotify has kept a tight lid on the exact release date for the 2021 Wrapped, but as of yesterday, they started telling users to “get ready” via a cheeky notification in the app.

In an email to its listeners, the platform said "It's almost that time of year again, 2021 Wrapped is coming soon!”

"Who will your top artist be?

"What about your most-played track?” they added.

"Which genres will reign supreme at the top of your charts?"

The streaming platform teased that all the answers to these questions will be announced soon so we’re all anxiously awaiting that day.

As per every other previous Spotify Wrapped, they usually start announcing everyone’s results in early December, so at this rate, we’ll have another three-ish weeks to wait, but at least that gives us enough time to come to terms with the embarrassing results.

How do you access your Spotify Wrapped 2021?

As this years’ Wrapped is still in the works, we’re not 100 per cent how users will go about accessing their results but here’s last years’ methods.

Grab your mobile phone and head straight to the Wrapped website to access your full rundown. 

On the homepage, you'll see 'Already have an account? Log in to see your 2021 Wrapped'. Click on the link and you'll be redirected to the Spotify app. From there, you'll be taken to the 2021 Wrapped page.

Simply click on 'See how you listened in 2021' to watch the slideshow which includes how many new artists you discovered, along with your top artists, top songs, top genre and how much you listened.

If you want to share your superior music tastes with your friends on social media, you can click 'Share' on the final slide. 

You'll also have a new Wrapped playlist show up on your Spotify app, so you can listen to all the bops you've already listened to time and time again.
