When Are We Getting a "Fast and Furious" Han Seoul-Oh Spin-Off?

This is the most valid question we’ve ever heard.

Have you ever seen a tweet that clarified your entire social, political and cultural stance in a single sentence?

Today, I did:

Andrew Todd is of course referring to the best character in the entire, eight-film Fast and Furious franchise: Han Lue, played by Sung Kang. (He uses the last name "Seoul-Oh" on fake IDs.)

Spoilers ahead for the Fast & Furious saga.

With Solo: A Star Wars Story arriving in cinemas next week, it’s time we considered the viability of a spin-off that includes a character with an even more tortured, time-twisting backstory; a character who died in The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift, only to appear alive and well in Fast & Furious (that’s #4); a character who formed a romantic partnership with Gisele (a pre-Wonder Woman Gal Gadot), only to see her tragically fall to her death from a speeding plane on an endless tarmac; and a character who was murdered in Tokyo (twist!) by Jason Statham at the end of Fast & Furious 6, bringing his arc full circle.

(Did we mention that Han, even when grief-stricken, was exceptionally level-headed and chill? He makes Lando look like a quivering bag of nerves.)

Seeing as they’ve already resurrected him by making the fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh F&F films "prequels" to Tokyo Drift, what would it hurt to make another, perhaps set between the events of F5 and F6, allowing us to reunite Kang and Gadot and remember for a brief moment that true love exists?

I have double-checked Kang’s IMDB page for upcoming projects, and I reckon he can make it work.

(If you want a movie about young Han Lue, well, it already exists, and it's called Better Luck Tomorrow.)

Earlier in the week, Dwayne Johnson boasted about his 'Hobbs and Shaw' spin-off, also starring that murderous Statham, and directed by Deadpool 2’s David Leitch. Yes, we will see it multiple times in a cinema. But since production is yet to begin on a ninth Fast and Furious film, can’t Universal Pictures pool their remaining cash for a true Seoul-Oh story?

The internet wants it so… lo.
