Welp For Our Wallets: The PlayStation 5 Will Let You Play PS4 Games

Make room, the PlayStation 5 is on its way.

While it might only feel like yesterday that the PlayStation 4 was released, Sony has revealed details of their upcoming sequel: PlayStation 5.

In an exclusive for Wired, we learnt that the new console has been in the making for four years and will support PlayStation VR and 8K video quality. It will also use an SSD (solid state drive) meaning loading times will lessen dramatically.

But, perhaps the most important aspect of the console is that you'll be able to play your worn-out PS4 discs on it too.

The PlayStation 4 was first released in 2013 and has since been made slimmer in size and larger in hard drive space. While it functioned as a video game and Blu-ray player, among many things, playing PlayStation 3 games was impossible.

While there's no word on release date other than it definitely not being available this year, the PS5 is definitely on its way, so make room.
