Welp: Dylan Sprouse Won’t Be Returning as Trevor in the “After” Franchise

The fandom is shook.

We're sorry to bring you this devastating news, but hottie Dylan Sprouse has officially confirmed that he will not be returning to play Trevor in the final two After movies, After We Fell and After Ever Happy.

Try your best to hold back the tears.

"Appreciating all the love and support from the U.S After fans for Trevor. While I won't be filming the later movies in the series I hope you enjoy his portrayal in this and continue to support the stories and Hessa," Dylan wrote in an Instagram post overnight.

"Had an utter blast shooting this with the amazing cast and crew, and glad all the U.S. folk can now stream it to their entertainment boxes. Thanks!"

Yeah, thanks for breaking our hearts Dylan.

If you're not familiar with the books or movies, the After series centres on the complicated relationship between Tessa Young (Josephine Langford) and Hardin Scott (Hero Fiennes Tiffin).

Trevor is the highly intellectual co-worker of Tessa's who harbours feelings for her. Dylan's portryal of the character single-handedly saved After We Collided (don't @ me).

Despite the shock announcement, fans quickly flooded Dylan's Instagram post with comments thanking the Sprouse twin for playing Trevor in After We Collided.

Others took to Twitter to express their disappointment.

Dylan sprouse isn’t gonna be in the next after movie what is the point anymore

At this stage, there has been no further explanation as to why Dylan won't be returning for the last two films.

Additionally, no one has confirmed whether the role of Trevor will be recast or removed entirely.

Dylan isn't the only actor to reveal that he won't be continuing with the franchise. Earlier this month, Shane Paul McGhie also annnounced his exit from the After movies.

"It is with a heavy heart that I am announcing I will not be filming in Bulgaria. We could not come to an agreement and I had to make a really tough call," he wrote in an Instagram post.

The release date for the upcoming third flick After We Fell has not been confirmed.

Now, there's simply nothing left to do but watch our interview with the After We Collided cast and reminisce about the vibrant energy that Dylan brought to the cast.
