OK Go really painted themselves into a corner after breaking through with the innovative video for “Here It Goes Again”.

Having gone viral with an elaborate treadmill routine, they’ve had no choice but to continually one-up themselves with increasingly absurd clips. Like this one. And this one. Ooh, and remember this one?

The latest might be their maddest experiment yet.

For the song “Upside Down & Inside Out”, they’ve decided to take to the skies and conduct a zero-gravity dance. As the video says, there is no green screen and no wirework involved. It really takes place in a plane, mid-flight, with no gravity.

It took 21 flights to perfect the routine, resulting in 58 “puke events”, total. The least you can do is watch:

Okay, there is one bit of fakery involved. According to the band, filming only allowed about 27-second increments of zero gravity, mostly because that pesky gravity kept returning. “[W]e stayed as still as we could for the five minutes of the plane climbing, and then began the next scene as soon as we were weightless again,” the band explained.

And now, some of the classics.
