Carole Baskin Doesn’t Like the "WAP" Video, But Not Because of Kylie Jenner

The wild storylines of 2020… they’re converging!

Did you watch Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion’s new music video for "WAP" over the weekend and wonder, "What would notorious documentary star and walking meme Carole Baskin think of this?”

You didn’t? Because that would be insane? Well, I’m sorry to say that Baskin has chimed in regardless. And no, she’s not a fan, but not for the same reason as the rest of you.

The Big Cat Rescue CEO, who was made infamous by Netflix’s Tiger King doco and is set to be played by Kate McKinnon in a new show, was approached by Billboard to speak on the clip’s usage of big cats as props. Baskin noted that, thankfully, it appeared all the tigers were green-screened in.

"My guess is that most people won't even see the Photoshopped cats in the scenes because the rest of it is so lurid," she said.

"That being said, you have to pose a wildcat in front of a green screen to get that image and that doesn't happen in the wild.

"It can't happen in sanctuaries like ours where cats have plenty of room to avoid a green screen (or would shred it if offered access and could die from ingesting it). That tells me they probably dealt with one of the big cat pimps, who makes a living from beating, shocking and starving cats to make them stand on cue in front of a green screen in a studio. That's never good for the cat."

However, the worst part of the "WAP" video, in Baskin’s mind, is that it "glamorises the idea of rich people having tigers as pets."

"That never works out and the cats either die or end up dumped in sanctuaries or, worse yet, breeding mills. Either way, it's always abusive to the cat."

Regardless, this was probably the happiest Carole has been about a media request since at least February.

No word on what Cardi B or Joe Exotic thinks about all this.
