Watch Pauline Hanson And Tony Abbott Have A Very Natural Conversation For Some Reason

Any drama students out there looking for a powerful new piece to share with a partner?

Today, Pauline Hanson premiered a new short film on her Facebook page, in which she and former nemesis Tony Abbott appear to bury the hatchet (but not before using that hatchet to murder the conventions of human conversation).

Their feud stretches beyond that of even Kanye and Taylor’s, beginning when Hanson – a newly-elected senator – was sent to jail for electoral fraud in 2003; an imprisonment she’s long held Abbott responsible for. (She only served 11 weeks before the conviction was overturned.)

But time heals all wounds apparently, as evidenced by this very natural exchange.

TA: “Pauline, it’s good to catch up with you again after all these years.”

PH: “Yeah, I think it’s great too, and I really appreciate you coming to my office and saying hello and welcoming me to the Parliament. We’ve had a bit of a chat and we’ve had a coffee, and it’s great. And I really do appreciate that Tony.”

TA: “And Pauline, there are half a million people who voted for you, and you’ll be a strong voice for their concerns.”

PH: “[Deep intake of breath that appears to stretch on for an eternity] Yeah, I know, I’ve got a big job ahead of me for the next six years… thanks.”

TA: “We’ve all got a big job ahead of us, but we’ve got to make the most of what I hope will be a constructive parliament.”

PH: “Yes and that’s what I’m hoping too. Thank you.”

TA: “Good on you.”

Look, it’s no Before Sunrise, but what is?
