Watch Emma Watson Speak Out Against Campus Assaults

Former Harry Potter star and international spokesperson for woke-ness, Emma Watson, visited the United Nations this week to discuss campus assault.
Watson was speaking on behalf of her group HeForShe, which encourages equality through solidarity, and which recently published a report on their IMPACT 10X10X10 University initiative.
The initiative seeks to encourage opportunities for women at uni, whether it be among the faculty or in the varied fields of study. It’ll do so by compelling 10 heads of state, 10 global CEOs and 10 university presidents to make clear commitments to closing gender gaps in both administration and academia, as well as ending violence on campuses.
“The experience must make it clear that the safety of women, minorities and anyone who might be vulnerable is a right and not a privilege,” she said, continuing, “A right that will be respected by a community that believes and supports survivors, and recognises that when one person’s safety is violated, everyone feels their own safety is violated.”
Though Australia has no universities among the ten being tracked, the initial results of a survey by the Australian Human Rights Commission into sexual harassment on campus indicates it is very much a problem locally.
