What becomes of deleted scenes?

Though usually excised from movies and TV shows for good reason, there are often those brilliant little vignettes that are cut from the final edit simply because they take up too much time and don't progress the story in any way.

The most tragic instance of a powerful, important scene being mistakenly left on the cutting room floor can be found on the DVD of Summer Heights High, Chris Lilley's ingenious 2007 masterwork. On it, we were granted five uncut minutes of Lilley's impassioned drama teacher Mr. G performing an interpretive dance for his students. (It only amounted to a short cutaway in the actual program.)

For eight long, lonely years, the sequence sat on DVD shelves accumulating dust, like some sad Toy Story character. But finally, thanks to Drake and his own GIF-able dancing, it has found a second life online.

Following the release of Drizzy's Hotline Bling video, Lilley, struck by some kind of divine inspiration, reposted his infamous lost sequence to Facebook, with Drake now providing the soundtrack.

It is truly glorious.

We only hope that all the other great forgotten cut-scenes (relegated to those untouched second "special features" discs) can similarly be rescued by Drake.

Side note: Every teen actor here should have been awarded an Oscar, immediately followed by lifetime achievement trophies, for their heroic efforts in keeping a straight face. The kid at 3:46? MVP.
