Want to Play Google Doodle’s Garden Gnomes Game? (Trick Question, We Know You Do)

Yes, we know it looks a lot like 'Cannonball Edgy'.

Google Doodles are the height of we like to call 'free fun'. To be considered 'free fun', you need to fulfil two requirements: you must be free, and you must be fun.

And though we’re technically surrendering exceptionally valuable personal data to Google on a daily basis, a very fun Garden Gnomes game they added to their homepage over the weekend still technically qualifies as free. So, you are welcome to (temporarily) suspend your panic over Google becoming our future overlords by spending countless hours attempting to hurl cute gnomes across a digital garden.

Follow the link here to play.

The game was created in celebration of Germany’s 'Garden Day', honouring the many-centuries old garden gnomes, which were originally hand-crafted to bring luck to homes, as per local myths.

But none of that matters in the game itself, which allows you to catapult clay gnomes as far as possible using only your spacebar or the click of a mouse. (On mobile, you can just tap the screen.)

If you’ve ever participated in one of our 'Cannonball Edgy' competitions, it’ll actually be pretty familiar to you. (Don’t worry; we take the imitation as a compliment.)
