VIC Premier Daniel Andrews Reacts to His "Married At First Sight" Doppelgänger

"The gentleman in question has my deepest sympathies."
Married At First Sight viewers were left stunned this week by one contestant who bares an uncanny resemblance to Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews.
The groom in question is 37-year-old South Australian diesel mechanic Russell Duance, and we gotta admit, he really does look like Dan’s doppelgänger.

Fans of the show were quick to jump online to point out the absolutely uncanny similarity.
Another wrote, “Well 2021 was bound to be full of surprises but I never thought I’d see Dan Andrews on MAFS”.

It feels like at any moment Russell could stand behind a lectern and announce that Melbourne is going back into lockdown and we wouldn’t even bat an eyelid.

What makes this story even better is the fact that Premier Andrews is aware of the reality star's resemblance to him.
Speaking with Fifi, Fev and Nick on Melbourne’s The Fox FM, the Premier was quizzed about his Married At First Sight look-alike.
“I was watching the premiere, the opening of MAFS, and this guy named Russell came on and I said to my wife Alex, 'That has to be Dan Andrews' twin brother'," Fevola told Andrews.
“Were you aware of this look-alike? He looks exactly like you, mate!”
“It has been drawn to my attention,” Andrews replied.
“The gentleman in question has my deepest sympathies. To have to wander around looking like me—and having people compare you—that’s a tough gig."
Kudos to you Dan, whether it’s a COVID-19 outbreak or Aussie reality TV, you’ve got your finger firmly on the pulse.
Premier Andrews aside, let’s take a quick dive into the groom, Russell, because this guy really is perfect reality TV fodder.
According to Channel Nine, Russell’s last relationship was quite the rollercoaster. Russ just casually proposed to a complete stranger whilst holidaying in Las Vegas, because why not?

Weirdly, it actually worked. Apparently the two began dating and eventually did marry, but in typical Vegas fashion, it only lasted a year (true love really is dead).
Well, hopefully he has more luck with his wife on the show, Beth Moore, a 39-year-old Western Australian retail worker and student.
Keep up with all the Married at First Sight chaos 7pm Sunday and 7:30pm Wednesday on Channel Nine.
