Netflix’s “Sexy Beasts” Is the Wild New Dating Show You Need in Your Life

The dating show you didn't know you needed.

Step aside Married at First Sight ‘cos there’s a new chaotic dating show on the scene that we're pretty sure is the stuff of nightmares. Say hello to Sexy Beasts.

Dropping on Netflix on 21 July, the six-episode series follows singles going on blind dates. Seems pretty normal so far, right? Well, here’s where things go off the rails; every contestant is dressed up as some kind of animal or demonic creature.

Yep.

To be clear, these aren't your pathetic dress-up costumes that you buy from some weird online store, we’re talking Lord of the Rings prosthetic levels of make-up to ensure each contestant is completely unrecognisable.

It’s all about letting the personality shine through ‘cos good looks are temporary, which is actually really wholesome.

Each episode, one person will go on a date with three different monster-fied potential suitors and come the end of the date, they will decide who they would like to see without their mask on.

Check out the above trailer if you haven't already ‘cos words really can’t describe Sexy Beasts.

Ngl, aside from how weird it is watching a chimpanzee kiss a female demon, this actually seems like a genuine dating show and I’m so ready to watch. Damn you Netflix.

Also, the fact that they must say “My Sexy Beast is…” before they choose their preferred person hits different. A basic rose ceremony just can’t compete with that.

Here’s what the rest of the internet thinks.

Sexy Beasts drops on Netflix on 21 July.
