Vegan Kraft Mac and Cheese Exists, So Excuse Me While I Sprint to the Shops

Vegan Kraft Mac and Cheese Exists, So Excuse Me While I Sprint to the Shops

Calling all junk food vegans.

After waiting what seems like a millennium, international food giant Kraft has finally released a vegan version of their famous instant mac and cheese.

Someone pinch me.

The new packet of processed goodness is exactly what you’d expect: a whole bunch of macaroni noodles paired with a powdered cheese sauce that is sure to taste like nostalgia and sodium.

Not only is the new option vegan friendly but it’s dairy free (duh) and also completely gluten free, so Kraft is really ticking a whole lotta boxes with this one.

TikToker and Author of Vegan Junk Food and Vegan Butcher Zacchary Bird spilled the beans on the new product in a video where he picked it up from his local Woolies, cooked it up and gave us a glowing review.

“VEGANISM JUST CROSSED A NEW FRONTIER! It’s finally here and it tastes like the colour orange,” he wrote in the caption of the video.

So far, it seems to only be available at Woolies stores around Australia but taking a look at their webpage for the product, our guess is that it’s sold out pretty much anywhere, so don’t hold your breath.

This isn’t the first time a dairy free processed mac and cheese has hit Aussie shelves. Just a few years ago Well and Good and Woolies-owned brand Plantitude released their own range of flavours but both received mixed reviews.

In the comments section of Zacchary Bird’s TikTok video @jimjam6669 asked, "Please tell me it’s better than the plantitude one."

And Zaccary replied, “Easy, yes because it doesn’t taste like a damn coconut.” Well that’s a relief.

I gotta say, I’ve tried both the Well and Good, as well as the Plantitude versions and they weren’t bad, they just didn’t have that distinct Kraft flavour. So, hearing that the new product is g makes it all worth the wait.

Kraft vegan mac and cheese is available at Woolworths around the country now, but keep an eye out ‘cos they might be hard to snag.
