The Legendary, Unbreakable Nokia Brick-Phone Might Be Making a Comeback

Known for its near indestructibility and relentless battery life, the Nokia 3310 is rumoured to return.
Evan Blass, a notable phone leaker, reports HMD Global—a Finnish company that licenses the rights to produce Nokia phones—will relaunch the classic 3310. It’s rumoured the big reveal will come at the Mobile World Congress (MWC), the world’s largest gathering for the whole industry.
Many people, especially '90s or early-2000s kids, would have fond memories of this zany yet completely practical cell. (I played way too many hours of Snake II on that trusty handheld.)
Along with the alleged remake of Nokia 3310, the company has also teased new Android phones for MWC, including the Nokia 3, 5, and 6. You can find out the supposed specs and all that tech-jazz here.
The excitement is too real.
I think most of us can agree there are pros and cons to smart phones; but, for the sake of nostalgia, let’s just talk about why the old school 3310 was a beast.
Its battery was a total tank, unlike smartphones, which seemingly burn out in a few hours if you’ve got multiple apps running (or, worst case scenario, have been shown to catch on fire: Sorry, Samsung).
It also had games which were entirely self-explanatory, and obsessively fun. The best part: They were free to play.
Also, who could forget those adorable wallpapers.
Please, Nokia, let this be a thing.Photo: iStock
