Tyler, The Creator Will Return to Tour Australia After All

He's back! Tyler, The Creator is set to headline Queensland’s new Wildlands Festival in December.

We initially had our doubts about Tyler, The Creator bringing his IGOR tour to Australian shores, considering he was refused entry into the country back in 2015. Well, today it was announced that the eccentric American rapper will be heading down under this summer to headline Wildlands, a new Brisbane festival from the team behind Beyond The Valley and Origin Fields.

Tyler last planned to visit Australia for the release of his third album, Cherry Bomb. However, an online petition to ban his entry started by feminist organization Collective Shout gained 700 signatures, which was enough to have his visa refused. So, his return might be just a little awkward…

Anyway, the lineup for the fest is looking pretty juicy. Taking place on December 28 at Brisbane Showgrounds, Tyler joins alternative dance group RÜFÜS DU SOL, who were announced as headliners in June.

The eclectic lineup also features Mallrat, Green Velvet, JAUZ, RL Grime, Skepta, What So Not, "Boo’d Up" singer Ella Mai and more.

Does this mean Tyler is gearing up for an Aussie tour while he’s here? No details have been released at this stage, but we will keep you posted.

Wildlands is an 18+ event and presale tickets will be released for $129 on Tuesday, 6 August 2019 at 3:00 PM (AEST). You can register for presale access here. General tickets go on sale on for $139 on Wednesday, 7 August 2019.
