Two Private School Mums Are Suing Each Other Over Spicy WeChat Exchanges

Two mothers of students at Sydney's prestigious Knox Grammar School are suing each other over comments made in a WeChat conversation.

The mothers, Ms Chen and Ms Wu, became friends in 2011, but by 2016, it had developed into an all-out brawl. The mothers expressed their distaste for one another on the popular Chinese messaging app WeChat, and that's where this drama-filled story begins. Strap yourself in.

According to a statement obtained by ABC News, Ms Wu claimed that Ms Chen defamed her on a WeChat thread in March of 2016, which was allegedly seen by up to 1,000 people.

Ms Chen is now counter-suing Ms Wu for an alleged series of offensive posts about her as well. Some of the supposed exchanges include Ms Wu claiming that Ms Chen did not get her son into Knox like she alleges.

"You really think that you are a high class lady by sending your children to a private school, and by buying a few fake handbags?" Ms Wu allegedly wrote in an exchange.

Ms Chen allegedly replied with "@Ava [Ms Wu] you vixen! Yeah? I just finished my meeting and I see you b***hing like a vixen!"

In a later message, Ms Chen supposedly clapped back again with: "How dare you attack others when you buy fake products yourself?"

Ms Chen will plead with a truth defence, which means that she (and her lawyers) will argue the things she said were true and, therefore, can't be defamation.

Ms Chen also claimed Ms Wu's husband told her that Ms Wu had tried to avoid a random breath test while driving and attempted to run over a police officer.

It's definitely an intricate web of insults and clapbacks. High-class life is so interesting.
