Trump Got "Tough" on North Korea, But Wants to Be Even Tougher

President Trump is well-known for his often shocking speeches and very interesting (read: BAD!) brand of diplomacy.
But over the last few days, he has been beefing up his rhetoric against North Korea, that rogue nation-state armed with a whole bunch of nuclear weapons known for not caring about the laws against testing nuclear weapons wherever, whenever.
North Korea recently poked the beast (Trump/U.S.) by making plans to fire their nuclear missiles over Japan near Guam, a U.S. territory with a 'yuuuuge' U.S. naval base. It's a pretty clear act of aggression aimed to antagonise the States.
So, it was quite unsurprising that Trump responded with some tough guy stuff. Fight fire with fire; that's what our parents always told us, right?
Trump later told reporters North Korea should be afraid.
"If North Korea does anything in terms of even thinking about an attack of anybody that we love or we represent or our allies or us, they should be very, very nervous," he said.
He later clarified that he didn't go far enough when he said North Korea would meet "fire and fury."
"Maybe it wasn't tough enough. They've been doing this to our country for a long time, for many years," he explained.
Oh dear.
With this heightened tension, Australia's Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull has added in his two cents, stating that Australia would join the U.S. in the event of an armed conflict with North Korea.
"So be very, very clear on that. If there's an attack on the U.S., the ANZUS Treaty would be invoked and Australia would come to the aid of the United States, as America would come to our aid if we were attacked," Turnbull told 3AW.
North Korea is allegedly planning the missile launch for mid-August, which means that it could happen in the next two weeks. If it does, let's just hope it doesn't escalate into a full-blown nuclear war. Surely, we've learnt this already? Surely.
