Troye Sivan's "Wild" Hits #1 In Australia

Troye Sivan’s Wild has topped the ARIA Album Charts, despite technically being an EP and not an album.

(We’ll let it slide, because Taylor Swift says so.)

It’s the first #1 record for YouTube sensation – and adorable Tweeter - Sivan.

Wild also went to #3 in New Zealand and #5 in both the United States and the United Kingdom; a fantastic result for a local artist.

Still, it must be said, in the latter two nations, he was bested by the first week sales of Iron Maiden’s 16th studio album, The Book of Souls.

In Australia, The Book of Souls landed at #2 on the ARIA charts.

Is there enough room in the music industry for a four-decade old metal band and a 20-year-old pop star to coexist?

There totally is. But seeing that 2015 is pretty much the year of the unlikely feud, we kind of want to see how this one would play out.
