Triple J Announce a Hottest 100 of the Decade Countdown Is Coming In March

Start preparing your list.
While we should all strive to live in the moment, it’s equally as important to appreciate the past. We might have officially entered a new decade, but that doesn’t mean we can’t reflect on the last 10 years.
Of course, one of the best aspects of the past decade was the music. We’ve been treated to bops by artists like Lana Del Rey, Lorde, Adele, Frank Ocean, Lady Gaga and Kendrick Lamar.

So, it begs the question: What was the best song of the 2010s?
Well, it looks like triple j is about to help answer that question this March. Earlier today, they announced on Twitter that they will be counting down the Hottest 100 tunes of the decade.

The official announcement says voting will open in February, with the countdown happening in March. At the moment, no exact dates have been posted.
This isn't the first time that triple j has done additional Hottest 100 countdowns. In 1998 and 2009, they asked people to vote for the Hottest 100 songs of all time. Funnily enough, both were topped by Nirvana's "Smells Like Teen Spirit".
We still have the Hottest 100 2019 to look forward to on Saturday 25 January, which has broken a new record for listener votes. But after that, we suggest putting considerable thought into your favourite tracks of the decade.
