Here’s the Trailer for “Big Bang Theory” Prequel Series “Young Sheldon”, Wait, What Is This?

Love that unsettling kid from Big Little Lies? Hate everything about The Big Bang Theory except for Jim Parsons’ voice?

If you fit into this very specific demographic, Young Sheldon is for you.

American network CBS has just dropped the five-minute trailer for their spin-off to The Big Bang Theory, which is set to air in America this September. (There’s no Australian airdate or channel yet.)

The premise is pretty much what it says on the tin: It’s about theoretical physicist Sheldon, played by Parsons in the original show, but when he’s young (and played by Iain Armitage).

However, unlike The Big Bang Theory, it’s not filmed in front of a studio audience. And it’s a drama, maybe? Look, you’re just gonna have to watch the trailer for yourself.

So, yeah. The above clip, most egregiously, claims to “introduce” us to Armitage. Uh, didn’t they meet his Ziggy during Big Little Lies?

(Fun fact: Before he was accused of biting children in Big Little Lies and wearing bow ties in Young Sheldon, Armitage reviewed Broadway shows.)

The Big Bang Theory has been renewed for two more years, and will return for its 11th season in September too. Can you even handle that much Sheldon?
