Tinder Now Lets You Choose From a Wider Range of Genders

Tinder says "all types, all swipes".

Tinder has announced that their latest update will give users the option to select from a diverse range of genders, breaking from the previous binary of man and woman.

The update, which launched on 1 March, will allow users choose from 'Man', 'Woman' or 'More Genders' which will reveal a bunch of options.

While this update has already been introduced in other countries like Spain, France and Germany, it is only just now rolling out in Australia as well as Canada, the United States and the United Kingdom.

Transgender Victoria worked with the app in Australia to ensure that it met the needs of Australia's gender-diverse community.

Tinder explained that while they haven't been ahead of the curve in this area, they are looking to be better in the future.

"No one will ever be banned from Tinder because of their gender. We haven’t had the right tools to serve our diverse community in the past, but that changes today," the blog read.

"This is just one step in our efforts to make Tinder a more inclusive community."
