The Most Hilarious Memes About Elon Musk and Grimes’ Baby Name

How does one pronounce X Æ A-12?

Earlier this week, Elon Musk and Grimes (aka Claire Boucher) welcomed their first child into the world. Elon announced the news on Monday on Twitter, after followers were keen to hear whether the baby had been born yet.

Of course, people were excited to find out what the couple had chosen to name their baby boy. Would they go for something outrageous and quirky? After all, celebrities do have a habit of doing that. Or would they choose a relatively common name, like Matthew or Geoff?

Well, it's safe to say no one could have prepared the internet for the name Elon and Grimes settled on: X Æ A-12 Musk.

At first, people were in pure disbelief. Some followers even thought it could be a joke (considering Elon's reputation for trolling) and the couple would announce the real name later.

However, Grimes has now confirmed that their son has indeed been named X Æ A-12. In a Twitter post, the Canadian singer broke down the meaning of the name.

There's quite a lot to take in.

Fans were quick to point out that Grimes has used Æ before, naming a song on her latest album 4ÆM. Plus, the A-12 is a Lockheed plane built for the CIA. Designers knew it internally during its development as "Archangel".

But despite Grimes giving everyone insight into the name's meaning, people still have absolutely no clue how to pronounce it.

So, it's only natural that the internet has taken a few guesses in the form of some very amusing memes.

Here are some of our favourites.

Some people have taken more serious stabs at guessing the pronunciation, with one follower speculating the name is "X Ash Archangel". Elon liked the comment, suggesting that the guess could be accurate.

One thing is for sure: X Æ A-12 is in for a lifetime of listening to people pronounce his name incorrectly.
