The Internet Can Replace Any Actor With Nicolas Cage's Face Because It's a Dark Place

In case you needed more Nicolas Cage in your life.
Nicolas Kim Coppola, better known as Nicolas Cage or the face behind many perpetual memes, can now replace any actor's face with new AI technology. Thanks for ruining everything, internet.
The technology, referred to as 'deep learning technology', maps facial features and then allows them to be grafted onto real faces.
The result? Truly disconcerting memes.

Motherboard reported, however, that deep learning technology was being used for other unethical pursuits.
They reported that a Redditor called 'deepfakes' had used the technology to 'paste' Gal Gadot's face onto an adult video, essentially creating a fake pornographic video featuring the actor.
This dangerous trend has lead to the creation of a whole subreddit, dedicated to creating fake pornographic videos with famous female actors.
And while the law hasn't really caught up with these new applications of the technology, the videos are left online as they are technically legal (despite clearly being unethical and non-consensual).
So, Nicolas Cage memes and violative adult videos are what this impressive technology is being used for? The internet truly is a dark place.
On the plus side, if you are a fan of Cage's face on everything, you have a whole new trove to sort through.
