Nicolas Cage Crashed a Nicolas Cage Movie Marathon, Screamed a Lot

How did you spend your birthday?
If the answer is not “crashing a movie marathon being held in your honour” then you are not living your best life.
Nicolas Cage decided to cap his 53rd trip around the sun by sneaking into a Texas theatre’s fourth annual B’day celebration of Cage and his cinematic works, titled C4GED.
Cage turned up at the Alamo Drafthouse for the 12-hour marathon, delighting audience members who have spent much of their life adoring the actor for his gonzo film choices and trying to figure out if he’s actually a good actor or not.
This year, Cage even programmed the films, selecting “movies I thought didn’t really get a proper release”: Bangkok Dangerous, Joe, Bringing Out the Dead, Army of One and Lord of War. Yes, he sat there for 12 hours and watched all of them with the audience too, which is actually not that much of an endurance test, considering he can also eat a peach for hours.
Screenings were broken up with some other bits of obscure footage from his career, some “bizarre memes” and an impassioned reading of Edgar Allen Poe’s “The Tell-Tale Heart”, which apparently inspired some of his “more manic performances.” Thanks, Poe!
Because we live in the age of the internet, you can watch it yourself. Enjoy.
