Dude Sues Taylor Swift For $42 Million, Claiming She Stole "Shake It Off"; She Responds With "Let It Go"

Haters gonna... you know.

Mere days after countersuing the DJ who allegedly groped her, Taylor Swift has been sued by a singer who believes she stole his lyrics for “Shake It Off.”

Jesse Graham alleges Taylor Swift nicked the lines “players gonna play” and “haters gonna hate” from his aptly titled tune, “Haters Gonna Hate.”

(No one tell him that Tonite Only released a track by the same name in 2010.)

According to the New York Daily News, Graham initially asked to be named as a writer of the track, given that there was “no way” she could have developed those lyrics without his song’s existence.

(Definitely don’t tell him that Urban Dictionary listed the phrase back in 2010 too.)

When Graham was presumably laughed off the phone by Sony and Swift’s record label, Big Machine, he filed a suit asking for $42 million instead.

(Oh, and you really don’t want to tell him that 3LW incorporated these exact lyrics in their 2000 song “Playas Gon’ Play”.)

Fittingly, Swift performed “Let It Go” with new #squad member Idina Menzel in concert on Saturday night (dressed in a tear-away Olaf suit no less).

Graham: take note.
