Taylor Swift Apparently "Mad As Hell" At Kanye's Nude "Famous" Vid But George W. Bush Is Chill About It

Over the weekend, while the world reckoned with the fallout of Brexit, Kanye contributed his own seismic event to the cultural landscape.

That is, he dropped the music video to “Famous” (our second favourite song of the year, for those keeping score) on Tidal, and it is a doozy.

If you’ve somehow not managed to cop a glimpse via your Facebook feed (because we know you probably don’t have Tidal, like most people), the video includes buck-naked synthetic models of West and his wife Kim Kardashian in bed with (deep breath) Taylor Swift, Ray J, Amber Rose, Caitlyn Jenner, Rihanna, Chris Brown, Donald Trump, Bill Cosby, Anna Wintour and George W. Bush.

The vid was unveiled on a 100-foot screen at the L.A. Forum, at an 8,000-person event live-streamed on Tidal, but Vanity Fair got an early glimpse, and even managed to get something of an explanation from Kanye about his “visual manifesto”.

“It’s not in support or anti any of [the people in the video]… It’s a comment on fame.”

Of course, each individual represented in the bed is in some way linked to West and Kardashian. We probably don’t need to cover off how Swift, Ray J, Rose and Jenner are affiliated with the Kardashian-West fam, but some may need reminding that back in the day, in the wake of Hurricane Katrina, West said then-President Bush “[didn't] care about black people”. Dubya later called this the worst moment of his presidency.

But twist! It turns out Bush isn’t that bummed (pun intended) about his naked model's appearance in the “Famous” vid, with his rep joking to TMZ that “[Bush] is in much better shape”.

Donald Trump’s rep also confirmed to TMZ that it’s not really him in the video (no doy), but was unwilling to share the Donald’s feelings on Kanye’s social commentary.

Chris Brown took it in good humour, which is a first, asking on Instagram, “Why I gotta have the plumbers butt/ crack showing WAX figure?”

“KANYE CRAZY, talented, but crazy,” he added.

No other involuntary-participants are yet to comment on their inclusion, though sources close to Taylor allegedly say she is “mad as hell”, and is reportedly “strategising with her team as to what her next move should be.” And no, “writing a song dissing him isn’t enough payback for something like this.”

Kanye, in a now-deleted Tweet, is ready for it: “Can somebody sue me already #I'llwait”

So, here’s the list of people on board with (or at least not overtly annoyed by) the “Famous” video:

• Chris Brown
• George W. Bush
• Donald Trump, maybe

We’re normally inclined to side with Kanye’s artistic endeavours (and this one is deliriously brazen and already successful in the sheer tonnage of think pieces its inspired), but with company like Brown, Bush and Trump, that may prove to be tricky.
