Sydney P-Plater Pulled Over For Singing Along To Taylor Swift's "Shake It Off"

Kanye's vengeful forces apparently stretch all the way to the NSW police department.

A 23-year-old P-plater has told Pedestrian.TV that she was pulled over by police last week and almost fined for singing along to Taylor Swift's "Shake It Off".

Okay, that's not exactly what happened, but pretty close.

Here's how Sarah Burke told it to Pedestrian.

"I saw a cop behind me and he was signalling to pull over, which I thought was weird because I'm on my P-Plates and I can only do 90, so I always stick to the speed like glue," she said.

"I pulled over, put my window down and was like 'What did I do' and the officer said 'You can't use handsfree on your P-Plates. I saw you talking and you don't have a passenger'."

It was at that point she realised the officer had spied her singing along to Tay-Tay, rather than having a handsfree conversation.

Sarah was only spared a fine (or should we say, let "Out of the Woods") after she showed the cop that her phone was in a zipped-up bag by her feet.

This strange tale is at least a good reminder for L- and P1-platers that touching a phone while driving could result in the loss of your licence.

And, unless you can back it up like Sarah, maybe don't claim you were simply singing along to Swifty if ever pulled over. Your phone records may suggest otherwise.

You may also want to learn how to resist the temptation for some carpool karaoke, even when the tune is this good.
