Students Can See Damon Gameau’s Climate Action Doco "2040" for Free on Opening Weekend

Worried about inaction on climate change? Here’s one way to get the ball rolling.

School aged students (those who are 18 years old or younger) will be able to see Damon Gameau’s new documentary 2040 for free during its opening weekend in cinemas.

Gameau’s last flick, That Sugar Film, was, you know, that film about sugar. In it, he sought to educate people on the effect sugar has on the human body, and change diets for the better.

With his second effort as a director, Gameau turns the heat up on himself and focuses his attention on climate change (no biggie). This time, he wonders what the world could look like in 2040 if we adopted some preventative practices that already exist around the world (as well as the consequences of what might happen if we let global warming continue at current rates).

Sound grim? It’s really not. Check out the trailer to see how Gameau’s tackling the biggest fight of our lives with good humour, positive vibes, the support of young people from around the world, and, most importantly, actual solutions.
