Oscar Nominees Received Goodie Bags Worth $140,000 and We’re Shook

All nominees received ownership of a plot of land in Scotland.

Not gonna lie, we’d be happy with a goodie bag full of M&M’s and lolly snakes. But celebs are built different, it seems.

On Sunday night, all 53 Oscar nominees were gifted with a goodie bag valued at more than most people earn in a year… a whopping $140,000.

It gets more insane when you hear what’s inside.

Topping the list for most extravagant and unnecessary gift ever is: a piece of land in Scotland. Whether or not these nominees took home a prize, they certainly took home a ‘Laird’, ‘Lord’ or ‘Lady’ title.

According to Swag Assets, who are responsible for creating the monstrous bag of goodies, other gifts included:

  • A three-night stay for two at Turin Castle, Scotland ($50,000 USD).
  • Remodelling and developing work from Maison Construction ($25,000 USD).
  • Four-night stay at the Golden Door Spa ($15,600 USD).
  • Three-day 3D wellness retreat ($15,000 USD).
  • Celebrity Arms Sculpting liposuction procedure by Art Lipo ($12,000 USD).

Ok, but they had some normal people stuff in there, too. Like a pack of Exploding Kittens’ games, some alcohol… and tens of thousands of dollars’ worth of cosmetics, fitness training and lifestyle coaching.

Of course, this has been receiving some backlash—and by none other than former Oscars host himself, Ricky Gervais.

It seems Swag Assets wasn’t too happy with this backlash and offered a counter perspective on their Instagram page.

The devil works hard, but Oscars goodie bag curators work harder.
