Uni Students Are Feeling Hella Stressed So Here Are Some Tips to Remain Calm During Exam Szn

Put your hand up if you're feeling stressed 🙋
So, you're smack bang in the middle of exams right now and struggling through every second of it?
You are definitely not alone.
Turns out 19 per cent of university students feel stressed on the daily, according to research from Studiosity. Two thirds of those surveyed felt stressed at least once a week or more.
The statistics found that the biggest cause of stress is struggling to balance uni work with other commitments like a job, hobbies and your social life (61 per cent of students) and, wow, isn't that relatable.
That was followed by the stress of a high workload (49 per cent of students) and not having enough time to prepare for assessments (36 per cent of students).

Studiosity's education experts warn that high levels of stress over long periods of time can lead to more serious mental health issues with many students feeling like their entire future is dependent on passing their exams.
While these tests are important, what's more important is prioritising your mental health so you can be your best self.
So, how can you reduce your stress levels during this infamously *stressful* time? We’ve got a few tips to help you remain calm and ace those tests.
Ask for help.
We've all sat at our desks staring at a textbook or computer screen for far too long when we're stuck on something, and it can feel overwhelming when you just don't understand it.
It sounds terrifying but the best thing you can do in this icky scenario is to ask for help.
The content you're working on is probably going to go over your parents' head, but you could ask your teacher or a friend from your class to try and put you back on the right path to almighty knowledge.
Not only will this develop a good habit (the more you ask for help, the better you'll get at it) but it will also help you build connections with your tutors and peers (and stop you procrastinating as long).

Track your studies.
Make the way you study better.
It's not as hard or as scary as it sounds because we've made you a whole habit tracker to do it yourself!
Beat the disorganisation and procrastination blues and block out the time you'll study for so you're always one step ahead.

Look after yourself.
We know you've heard it all before, but it really is so important to eat healthily, exercise and get enough z's.
Aside from the obvious health beneifts, exercise is proven to reduce stress with all those endorphins running through you. So get your heart pumping and your blood flowing and watch how you power through study sesh's.
It's easy to reach for the easiest, most comforting junk food around exam time, but high sugar = high stress = replace lollies and soft drinks with fruit and water.
As for your shut-eye, it's essential you get enough and it's good quality. Often the more stressed you are, the less adequate your sleep becomes so get into a good routine, don't use any devices an hour before bed and listen to some peaceful music or meditations to wind down (and check out even more tips for good slumber here).

Make your study space shine.
Okay, so it's important not to get too carried away with study decoration rather than actual study here, but the aesthetic of your study space is everything.
Refresh your location, set up your essentials and get the vibe right with all your tech, music and notepads in order just how you like them. If you want more on this, you bet we wrote a whole article on it.
Make sure you prioritise having fun too! Break up your study sesh's with chill times, seeing friends and doing the things you love to keep your stress levels low. You got this!
