"Spider-Man" Game Lets You Finger Pistol Around NYC Like It's 2007 All Over Again

A truly authentic Spider-Man experience.
The latest Spider-Man game to occupy our lives has just been released to PlayStation 4 and it's already getting rave reviews due to its vibrant portrayal of New York City and its in-depth storyline.
But it's one important element that's got most of us excited: the inclusion of finger pistols.

While walking through the streets of NYC, Spider-Man is unable to hurt civilians, yet he can greet them with a friendly neighbourhood finger pistol.
In a game full of Easter Eggs from classic material such as GTA IV, earlier Spider-Man games and even Family Guy, it's not entirely surprising they'd reference an eyebrow-raising scene from 2007's Spider-Man 3.
In the scene, Peter Parker/Spidey (played by Tobey Maguire, three Spider-Mans ago) embraces his dark side in incredibly cringe-worthy fashion (he is supposed to be a shy nerd after all), strutting down the street with attitude and, of course, his signature finger pistols.

A legend was born.
Marvel Games' executive creative director, Bill Rosemann, took to Twitter to explain that the inclusion of finger guns was vital to gameplay.
Spider-Man is out now on PlayStation 4.
...And if you've somehow slept on one of the greatest montages in cinema history, acquaint yourself below.
