“Spider-Man 3” Will Reportedly Bring Back Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield

So, who is your favourite Spider-Man?

If one of your wildest dreams is to see anyone who has ever played Spider-Man reunite for one glorious film, you're in luck.

Earlier this week, Collider reported that we could be seeing past Peter Parker actors Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire in Spider-Man 3. 

Yeah, that'll get your Spidey senses tingling. 

Maguire played Peter Parker between 2002 and 2007, while Garfield starred in 2012's The Amazing Spider-Man reboot and its 2014 sequel. 

On top of that, it's looking like we could get appearances from Jamie Foxx as Electro and even Kirsten Dunst as Mary Jane Watson. Alfred Molina is also set to appear as Doctor Octopus, the brilliant scientist turned eight-limbed villain in Spider-Man 2. 

Rumours surrounding Molina's involvement in Spider-Man 3 have been circulating the web since November, when GWW reported that a source within Disney/Marvel had claimed the actor would be reprising his role for the upcoming flick.

There's speculation that Emma Stone's Gwen Stacy could enter the game too, considering Garfield has already been thrown in the mix.

Of course, it's important to note that these reports haven't exactly been confirmed yet, so we should take them with a pinch of Spidey salt.

Honestly, it's quite surprising Tom Holland—known for letting details slip about the MCU—has been able to keep this all under wraps.

The third Spidey film will apparently fully embrace the multiverse elements, just like its animated counterpart Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. In that case, it'll welcome back a whole bunch of characters from the previous movies. 

Director Jon Watts is returning to helm the third film, with Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers penning the script. Holland will put on the red and blue suit again, while Emmy-award winner Zendaya, Marisa Tomei and Jacob Batalon will all reprise their roles from the first two Holland-led flicks.

Spider-Man 3 is in production and it's set to be released in December 2021.

Update 10/02: Tom Holland has denied that Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield appear in Spider-Man 3 in an interview with Esquire.
