Sophie Monk Was the Most Googled Aussie of 2017

But it was to be expected.
Google has confirmed Sophie Monk is, indeed, the most-searched Aussie on the search engine. Yes, all the times you searched "are sophie and stu still together" and "how can i be like sophie monk" counted towards that final tally.

Monk was followed by Schapelle Corby, Ben McCormack and Cassie Sainsbury when it comes to most Googled Aussies, so a pretty mixed bag for sure.
Also making the list was a whole bunch of interesting 'how to' searches.
Apparently, a lot of Australians (looking at you, kids) want to make slime of all different variations (fluffy and without borax or glue) and build their own fidget spinners.

The top ten how-to searches were:
- How to make slime
- How to make a fidget spinner
- How to make fluffy slime
- How to watch Mayweather vs. McGregor
- How to buy Bitcoin
- How to make slime without borax
- How to use Snapchat map
- How to unblock people on Instagram
- How to make slime without glue
- How to vote for gay marriage
Google is also great for figuring out what some things are (like when you're behind on the latest meme). So, naturally, the 'what is' searches were quite insightful too. MSG and Bitcoin were the most searched items, with kimchi and 'covfefe' not far behind.
To round off your weird search results for 2017 (look, it was a weird year), the 'why is' top ten probably provided societal resesearchers around the world with great nuggets.
Among the classic and evergreen searches such as 'why is Messenger crashing' and 'why is Snapchat down' were some fascinating search queries.
Making the top ten was 'why is my poop green' (go to the doctors if this a regular thing for you) and 'why is my internet so slow'.
Just remember, in the age of the internet, your search queries are never sacred. They will most definitely be compiled and turned into articles at the end of every year. Don't believe me? Google it.
